According to PTI Sources, the glitch and the return were confirmed and the passengers were later accommodated on another aircraft, which departed for Abu Dhabi at around 3.30 am. A replacement crew was brought in to operate the onward service, as the original team had exceeded their duty hours.
Flight tracking website Flightradar24.com reflected the aircraft’s mid-air return, there was no immediate statement from IndiGo in regards to the glitch in the flight and its return.

Other recent mishaps on IndiGo flights
- Similar mid-air returns have been reported in a series of technical disruptions involving IndiGo over the past few months.
- A Delhi–Leh service was diverted to Delhi due to operational restrictions at the destination. A replacement aircraft was arranged for stranded passengers later.
- An Imphal-bound flight returned to Delhi shortly after departure following a minor technical snag and was cleared to resume service after checks.
- A Bhubaneswar-bound aircraft was delayed by nearly an hour on the apron in Indore after a technical fault surfaced just before take-off. Passengers remained seated in the aircradt during repair works.
- A Madurai service was forced to return to Chennai mid-flight, disembarking 68 passengers safely after around 30 minutes in the air.
- A Chandigarh–Lucknow flight was cancelled after a technical fault was detected during pre-flight checks, leaving over 170 passengers waiting for alternative arrangements.
These repeated incidents, ranging from flight returns to significant delays and cancellations, have raised concerns among travellers about the carrier’s performance.
