More than 10,000 users on Instagram are not able to send or see their DMs

A massive outage has made Instagram inaccessible to thousands globally who are neither able to see their profile nor direct messages from their friends on the app. Outage tracker platform Downdetector has seen over 10,000 users globally, and over 1000s of them from India confirm the issue with the platform. 

And it seems most of them are having a tough time either sending or receiving DMs from their contacts. The outage platform has observed most of the reports spiking from 8:35 AM ET onwards, and at its peak, Instagram was not working for around 13,000 users which shows the level of impact the latest outage has caused.

Instagram is yet to acknowledge the issue and give details about the reason for the recent down time. However, people were quick to point out the problem with the app and shared their displeasure on social media.
