WhatsApp Plus is going to be a premium service from Meta and users will be unlocking a wide range of benefits.

WhatsApp Plus is going to be the paid version with more features.
WhatsApp is bringing a premium plan called WhatsApp Plus and more details have been shared about what people will be paying to use on the messaging platform. We have heard this news earlier this year and now tipster WaBetaInfo has shared more details about the supposed features that will be paid and what else users can expect from the new avatar of WhatsApp in the near future.
The messaging app plans to add new ways to customise the WhatsApp profiles, some features linked to the chats and also for WhatsApp calls.
WhatsApp Plus Launching Soon: All Details
The tipster claims WhatsApp Plus will have multiple ways to customise the platform for users, letting them change the theme, accent colours and even the app icon. In addition to this, the pinned chat option could increase from three to 20 chats for the premium users.
You might also have the power to use different ringtones for calls from your friends or a brother so that you know who is calling and decide whether you want to answer or not without looking at the screen.
There might be other inclusions like special sticker packs for the premium WhatsApp users, as well as giving them more interactive reactions. WhatsApp is currently working out the plan, its features in the background and we can expect the rollout to happen for both iOS and Android users in the coming months.
To be fair, for a premium service these don’t sound very tempting, especially to get people paying for WhatsApp but we will have to wait till the full service releases in the near future and then see how people view these additions and whether it is worth paying for the messaging app.
Meta has been experimenting with different models as it looks to monetise the user base on these apps, and with the AI integration getting deeper, the scope for premium versions have only gotten better. For Instagram users, Meta could also offer features like ability to see followers who don’t follow you back, or able to watch a Story without telling the person that you did view it.
WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook have mostly operated as free platforms since their origin. But Meta did invest billions in buying them and maybe now it feels the time is right to monetise these platforms.
