Sony’s flagship TWS earbuds are officially here.

Sony WF-1000XM6 flagship earbuds have launched globally this week and the company is looking to build on the success of the previous versions with more upgrades. Sony has been leading the audio space with the WH-1000 and WF-1000 wireless headphones and earbuds, respectively and now it is time for the WF-1000XM6 model to show its new range, a design overhaul for the device and big audio changes from the company.

The brand is also promising improved active noise cancellation for the 1000XM6’s but how much better can it already get?

Sony WF-1000XM6 Price And India Launch News

Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds have been priced at $329.99 (Rs 34,900 approx) this year and once again you can pick these in silver and black colour options. Sony is selling these in the US from this week with other regions like India expected to get them later this year.

Sony WF-1000XM6 Earbuds: What’s New

The first thing you notice with the new Sony earbuds is the design overhaul for the charging case as well as the buds. The company has gone back in time and borrowed the design traits of the 1000XM3 that had a flatter and a tall body with less curves. The earbuds are said to be 11 percent slimmer than the last one and built to fit into the curves of a person’s inner ear which most likely aids better noise isolation in general.

Sony claims the new earbuds are powered by dual processors that support 32-bit audio processing and the driver unit has been designed to give you deeper bass output even at high frequencies.

The bigger highlight is that the WF-1000XM6 gets ANC improved by 25 percent from the previous model, thanks to the HD noise canceling processor QN3e which is definitely something we can only judge after getting to use the new model.

The charging case weighs 47 grams while each earbud weighs 6.5 grams and comes with IPX4 rating for splash resistance.

Sony has added two mics on each side along with a bone conduction sensor which promises improved voice quality and captures the audio in noisy places. You also have gesture-based controls, support for Gemini assistant and even use Gemini Live hands-free. Even with all these changes, Sony says the battery life on the 1000XM6 remains the same with up to 8 hours of playback available with ANC turned on.
