Cambodia’s Q4 2025 exports hit $8 bn; imports rise to $9.35 bn



Cambodia’s merchandise trade witnessed strong growth in the fourth quarter (Q4) last year, with exports increasing by 23.2 per cent year on year (YoY) to $8 billion and imports climbing by 25.7 per cent YoY to $9.35 billion, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise and the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC).

There was continued demand from major markets and steady performance across key manufacturing sectors.

The United States was the country’s largest export destination during the quarter, accounting for 43.1 per cent of total exports, followed by the European Union (EU) at 15.7 per cent. Vietnam absorbed 9.9 per cent of exports, while China (6.3 per cent) and Japan (5.1 per cent) completed the top five export markets.

Garments continued to dominate Cambodia’s export basket, generating $2.77 billion, and up by 15.2 per cent YoY. Exports of other textiles rose to $665 million, while footwear exports increased by 18.9 per cent YoY to $553 million in the quarter.

The rise in imports in the quarter was driven mostly by higher demand for production inputs, vehicles and construction-related goods, domestic media outlets reported.

China remained Cambodia’s largest source of imports, supplying 53.7 per cent of total imports. Vietnam followed with 10.1 per cent, while Singapore (7.8 per cent), Thailand (6.3 per cent) and Indonesia (3 per cent) were also key import partners.

Garment materials led imports at $1.41 billion, supporting export manufacturing. Petroleum imports stood at $783 million.
