The iPhone 18 Pro series launch is widely expected and there is already a lot of excitement around the new premium lineup from Apple. Nothing is officially confirmed but the series of leaks that we come across every year leave little to imagination. So, when another leak has made its way through the grapevine, it piques our interest and people are attentive to those suggestions.

The next iPhone 18 Pro lineup is tipped to have the A20 Pro chipset offered based on a 2nm process that will be Apple’s first in the market.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Battery Details Leak

The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max model could get different battery packs based on regions later this year. The leak via Digital Chat Station suggests the iPhone 18 Pro Max in China will launch with a 5,000mAh battery which will make it marginally bigger than the regular iPhone 17 Pro Max model. But the tipster also claims that the global version of the 18 Pro Max could feature an even bigger 5,100 or 5,200mAh unit.

The details are interesting because Apple has previously launched the premium iPhones in dual variants, but mostly for the nano SIM and eSIM models. But it seems we could now see that strategy moving based on regions, and even then we are not sure why the Chinese variant will pack a smaller unit than the global version.

To be fair, Apple doesn’t share official battery details and most people look into the number provided by other sources and their own tests of the iPhone models. The news about iPhone 18 Pro Max battery comes at a time when most brands are adopting the far more advanced silicon carbon grade technology.

Because of this, we are now seeing phones launch with 10,000mAh battery and not looking like a brick in the hand. We don’t expect Apple to use this feature anytime soon, as it looks to find the balance between the hardware and iOS to optimise its overall performance.

Earlier this month we told you that the new iPhone 18 lineup (mostly the Pro) will look a lot like the iPhone 17 Pro models, with its rectangular camera module but most likely in different colours.

So, it is possible that when you face the iPhone 17 Pro next to the 18 Pro version when it launches, you might find both to be identical in their design and even finishing.
