Instagram users in the United States and a few more regions have faced outages which have affected over 10,000 users on Wednesday evening. The latest Instagram down incident has been confirmed by multiple users, who have reported on outage tracker platform Downdetector, while similar incidents have been scarce in regions like India, which suggests the problem was isolated and not widespread across the globe.
Most of the complaints on Instagram outage have circled around their inability to access the website, while a small percentage of the mass reports faced issues with the app and login process on the platform.
Instagram Outage Affects Thousands
The latest Instagram outage has primarily affected people in the US who reported issues using the platform around 6:28 PM ET (6:39 AM IST) and lasted for around an hour after which the Instagram outage complaints had eased up.
As mentioned by Reuters, the issue has been fixed after the brief down time faced by users in the country. Meta is yet to acknowledge the issue with Instagram and what caused a major outage for thousands of its users in the home market this week.
The new outage report comes at a time when Meta is reportedly testing premium versions of both WhatsApp and Instagram with a select group of users. Meta has been experimenting with different models as it looks to monetise the user base on these apps, and with the AI integration getting deeper, the scope for premium versions have only gotten better.
