Apple is set for a big AI overhaul in 2026 and Siri powered by Gemini could be one of its most important release.

Apple’s new Siri version could be teased with an upcoming iOS 26.4 update

Apple’s bid to get Siri AI off the ground could get an early teaser in February, according to a new report. The company’s reported deal with Google to use a custom Gemini AI model to power its assistant is likely to be part of the iOS 26.4 update which is expected to roll out by March or April at maximum. 

And that means the iOS 26.4 beta versions should be available to the developers and beta testers by mid-to-late February, as mentioned by Bloomberg in its piece.

This is a big moment for the company which continues to lag behind the other tech giants but still very much in a nascent race that needs more clarity and quality. 

Siri AI Boost, Powered By Gemini 

Apple says it found Gemini to be the most capable foundation for its future AI plans. The company is going to use Gemini AI for its own features but the company is going to be building and running them through its own AI data servers and private cloud compute system which ensures that all the user data remains private as always.

Google is basically going to be the supplier of the AI model for Apple and the company will be reportedly charged around $1 billion per year to make the model as per its design, specifications and other parameters.

The first version of Siri with the iOS 26.4 update is unlikely to be feature-packed but will surely excite people about what’s to come for the iPhone 15 Pro and later models this year. 

The big launch could be delayed till Apple announces the iOS 27 version at this year’s WWDC 2026 conference around June which will give us a clearer roadmap for its AI chatbot and hardware that will be powered by the new model. 

So what can you expect from Siri rolling out with the iOS 26.4 update? Not much is known for now but Apple should at least have the natural language style of the AI working through Siri like Gemini and ChatGPT and also connect with the internet for web search or even generate AI images with prompts. It has been a long time coming for Siri and we really hope this is not another false dawn.
