OnePlus to wind up its business outside of China?
OnePlus is being dismantled, that’s what a story headline flashed recently which got many spooked, including the company. OnePlus is now part of Oppo and operates more or less like a sub-brand which means they share the hardware and even the software to a large extent.
So, when the rumours around the OnePlus shutting shop outside of China got people talking, the company decided to share its side of the story and rebuff all those reports as false.
Yes, OnePlus has been forced to respond over the sensational story that broke on Tuesday and got many wondering about the future of the brand and its products. OnePlus India CEO, Robin Liu has shared a post on X which answers those concerns and assures people that the brand is here to stay. “OnePlus India’s business operations continue as normal,” the post mentions.

OnePlus India Business Changes: Why It Is Not Surprising
The stories around OnePlus winding up have been floating for a while but this report has just stoked more fuel into the fire. To be fair, OnePlus has realigned its product and market focus which is why you don’t see many devices launching and not all of them are available everywhere.
But to say OnePlus is doing badly in the country is far from the truth. It did face issues with the green line display PR disaster which had offline stores not willing to sell OnePlus devices across the country. OnePlus has tackled all of these issues and is one of the few to offer lifetime warranty on display for its older and new products.
And with rumours like the OnePlus 15s being cancelled and OnePlus Open 2 not launching this year, the brand could streamline its strategy and work towards the business that brings them higher revenue and margins.
Oppo has given it the charge in big markets like India where the Nord series does well but the premium lineup is not being overtly aggressive. We have also seen Oppo entering the market in new segments where OnePlus had a bigger presence earlier. So do we think OnePlus might end its operations in a country like India, not really.
