The iPhone 18 series launch is far away but people are already intrigued by all the rumours and leaks for the new models.
Apple could be making a drastic change to the look of the iPhone 18 Pro series
Apple iPhone 18 series launch is later this year and people are eager to know more about the devices that the company will bring to the market. This week there has been another big update regarding the iPhone 18 series and the possible upgrade that we could see with the iPhone 18 Pro models.
The last few series have come with Dynamic Island notch which was also introduced on the regular iPhone models. Now the company could shift the dynamics of this feature for the 18 Pro series and give you a different viewing experience.
iPhone 18 Pro ‘Dynamic’ Upgrade: What We Know
The details about the iPhone 18 series display specs has been shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on social platform Weibo. The post says the iPhone 18 model will once again come with a 120Hz ProMotion display with Dynamic Island notch, and the same will be offered on the iPhone Air 2 model as well.
However, when it comes to the iPhone 18 Pro and the 18 Pro Max versions, the tipster suggests Apple could ditch the Dynamic island and pack the Face ID sensor under the display to give you more screen estate for viewing content. So where does the camera go? He claims Apple will use a punch hole cut out for the selfie shooter which will be less wide than the current notch.
The Pro-level upgrades have been minimal in the last few years but removing the Dynamic Island notch will be a drastic visual change for the 18 Pro series, if the rumours are true.
More importantly, we are eager to know more about the under-display Face ID support which is likely to catch on within the industry if Apple is able to make it work as advertised. Removing the notch and making Face ID work without it could also be Apple’s gradual strategy to go all-glass with the special anniversary iPhone 20 version that is expected in 2027 from the company.
For the time being, Apple will be hoping the iPhone 17e fares better than the first ‘e’ model in the market, and we could hear more about the device in the next few weeks.
