Meta Ray Ban glasses with built-in display will be available in the US but its launch in other regions have been delayed. The company unveiled the new version of its smart glasses in September 2025 and it seems Meta has undervalued the demand for devices like these, which means it has been forced to rejig its launch plans in other countries.

Meta has confirmed the news to delay its global rollout and much of that is because of the ‘unprecedented’ demand for the Meta Ray Ban display glasses in its home market. This means people waiting to get their hands on the new Ray Ban glasses in France, UK, Canada and Italy will have to wait a little longer.

The delay in these regions mean Meta might have to push its launch plans in markets like India where the first-gen Ray Ban glasses have done well since its launch last year.

Meta Ray Ban Display Glasses: What You Get

Meta’s smart glasses have been upgraded with a built-in display and support for hand gestures. Smart glasses with built in displays are not new and Google showed it much earlier than anyone. Meta has invested heavily in the ecosystem and its early success has pushed the brand to make new products with more advanced use cases. Meta Ray Ban Display glasses are priced at $799 (Rs 70,000 approx).

You can now read WhatsApp chats, or even make calls without taking out the phone all the time. This is the true use case for the smart glasses, and Google’s Sergey Brin envisaged it more than 10 years ago.

But the big difference between Meta and Google Glass is the Meta Neural band that picks up EMG signals and lets you control the Display glasses with gesture support. You can flick the fingers and move across apps, or scroll through the WhatsApp interface to check your messages and more.

Meta claims these Display glasses can go beyond reading chats, you can get live captions, live translations and much more, all powered by its AI model. The glasses come in different lenses for both indoor and outdoor use, and up to 30 hours of battery life promised, with the bundled charging case.
