Apple AI push has been slow and not exciting but 2026 promises a big change for the company and here are the reasons.
Apple is tipped for a big 2026 with its AI ambitions to compete with Google
Apple is quite far behind OpenAI and Google in the big AI race but 2026 could be the year when the company finally gets a move on and really takes a hold of its AI ecosystem. This has been mentioned in a report by The Information which cites multiple reasons why Apple could have the breakthrough year in 2026 with its AI plans finally coming to shape.
The company is gradually building the hardware to power its own AI servers and keep them private unlike other names in the circuit. But Apple also has kept its case open by willing to work with rivals to keep its own AI ambitions in play.
Apple In 2026: Big AI Push
The report claims 2026 will be the turnaround that many expect Apple’s AI push to get with all its efforts bearing fruit. It says Apple’s own hardware and chipset for devices will deliver a seamless AI experience, and partnering with OpenAI and supposedly keen to deal with Anthropic could widen its AI net and give users more options to experience. We’ve seen this happen with ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini could also become part of that stable in the near future.
The big start is likely to happen around the Spring time when Apple is tipped to bring the iOS 26.4 update, its biggest one yet, with the new AI-powered Siri assistant. Yes, the Apple voice assistant that has been lagging far behind its competition and got further pushed by all the AI upgrades.
Siri AI was part of the big iPhone 16 event teaser with its Glow Time tag but that never came out. Now, Apple seems to be getting closer to the big Siri 2.0 release
Having Siri AI talk more contextually is important because of where both Gemini and ChatGPT stand currently. In addition to this, Apple needs the new-look AI Siri to work better so that its smart home segment can expand and the assistant is pivotal for its success.
Google could have a big role to play in the Siri AI launch which could be derived from Gemini with Apple AI also expected to become a force. We are eager to see how the new look Siri performs and if the so-called AI aspirations could give it a more conversational tone rather than sounding like a robot.
We’ve heard about the false AI dawn over at Apple quite a few times now, so would rather wait to see if the real deal is finally here and ready to compete with the best in the line.
