Samsung seems to have a problem with the One UI 8 update for watch

Samsung has reportedly decided to stop the One UI 8 rollout for Galaxy Watch 4 after users raised some complaints. The new Android 16-based One UI version for wearables from the company made its debut with the Watch 8 series earlier this year.

And now the company has been pushing the version for the older models like Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic but some issues have prompted the decision to pause the update. Multiple users have raised the issues regarding the battery and sensors on the Watch 4 models through Reddit posts, and it seems Samsung has acted on the concerns by stopping its rollout for the devices. 

One UI 8 Issues For Galaxy Watch 4 Users 

Many users have seen their Watch 4 units battery drain faster than before after installing the One UI 8 update. The other big issue for these users is that important sensors that track their health and sleep have stopped functioning which makes the wearable more or less just a regular watch. 

We haven’t been able to verify for these issues, and the Watch 4 unit with us has not got the One UI 8 version but seeing so many posts suggests Samsung may have realised the severity of these issues and decided to work on them before making it widely available. 

Having said that, the company has not officially shared any news about its rollout plans or even pausing it first. But we hope that other users waiting for the One UI 8 update get it with all the issues and possibly bugs completely fixed. 

One UI 8 rollout has been fast for Galaxy phones this year and Samsung has already started work on the One UI 8.5 version beta across the regions. The company will have a busy start to 2026 with the new Galaxy S26 series launch expected in February but not before it figures out how to price the new flagships with the ongoing RAM shortage concerns.
