As the world prepares to welcome the New Year 2026 with grand celebrations, actress Saiee M Manjrekar has opted for a quiet and meaningful start to the year. The actress will be travelling to Matheran, a serene hill station near Mumbai, which she fondly calls her second home. Sharing her thoughts, Saiee said Matheran has been a constant in her life since childhood and has grown deeply personal over the years.
Speaking to IANS, she said, “This New Year, I find myself returning to Matheran with a few close friends, a place that has always felt like a second home. I’ve been coming here since childhood with my family and friends, and over time, it has quietly become a part of who I am. With no cars and no rush, Matheran moves at its own gentle pace.”
Known for its mild climate, lush greenery and colonial-era charm, Matheran is one of India’s few automobile-free hill stations. Many visitors reach the destination via the historic Neral–Matheran Toy Train, which has been running since 1907.
Saiee M Manjrekar Calls Matheran ‘Meditative’
Recalling her cherished memories, Saiee spoke about horse rides along misty trails, shaded forests and peaceful viewpoints.
“I still carry vivid memories of riding here with my parents and siblings, moments filled with laughter, togetherness, and a sense of freedom that only time and nature can give. Horse riding through misty trails, shaded forests, and quiet viewpoints feels almost meditative, allowing memories to surface naturally,” she said.
For the actress, it is the simple joys that make Matheran special. From enjoying vada pav at a familiar vendor to gola on warm afternoons and Maggi at a small tapri, these moments help her reconnect with her roots. “Away from five-star comforts, these moments reconnect me to my roots and remind me how little one truly needs to feel content,” she added.
Calling her New Year plans deeply right, Saiee said, “Welcoming the New Year here feels deeply right, a return to simplicity, authenticity, and the memories that continue to shape me.”
Saiee M Manjrekar’s Career So Far
The 23-year-old actress made her debut with a brief appearance in the Marathi film Kaksparsh (2012). She later made her Bollywood debut as the female lead in Dabangg 3 (2019) opposite Salman Khan. Saiee also featured in the music video Manjha in 2020 and Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay alongside Guru Randhawa.
Most recently, Saiee M Manjrekar was seen in the Telugu action drama Arjun Son Of Vyjayanthi. Made under the direction of Pradeep Chilukuri, the film stars Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Vijayashanti, Sohail Khan, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Srikanth and R. Sarathkumar. It serves as a spiritual sequel to the 1990 classic Karthavyam, with Vijayashanti reprising her iconic role as Kalyan Ram’s mother.
