Samsung continues with the One UI 8.5 beta updates and the version 2 is now available if you use any of the Galaxy S25 series models in India. Samsung One UI 8.5 is basically the next big version after the main Android 16 update that rolled out earlier this year and is likely to be the last one before One UI 9 is released sometime in 2026.
Samsung is starting the beta program for One UI 8.5 in select regions and only its 2025 flagship model S25 series for now but more should be added as the new version stabilises and ready to be rolled out for other devices.

Samsung One UI 8.5 beta program has started with the 2025 flagship models, which doesn’t include the Galaxy Fold and Flip 7 models for now. The details about the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update has been confirmed by tipster Tarun Vats who is regular with Samsung related news.
He has pointed out that the One UI 8.5 beta 2 update is available if you have the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ or the Galaxy S25 Ultra model. Surprisingly, the release note doesn’t mention the S25 Edge variant, which could get its beta version at a later date.
So what does the new beta 2 update offer for these users? The company is offering fixes and improvements for some bugs that many reported with the first version. The issues are linked to the gallery app, phone app for calling, some problems which triggered a device reboot and stabilises the software further.
Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta Program: How To Register
Samsung started the One Ui 8.5 beta program earlier this month and here’s how you can sign up for the new version for your eligible device:
- Get the latest version of the Samsung Members app on the Galaxy S25 phone
- Sign in with your Samsung account
- Tap on the “One UI 8.5 Beta Program” banner at the top of the home screen
- Hit on “Register” and complete the following steps to install the beta software version
The One UI 8.5 beta update doesn’t see a lot of changes to the design of the interface which is likely to be offered when the new One UI 9 version rolls out next year.
