iOS 26.2 update has been checked off the list and Apple is quickly headed to the iOS 26.3 beta version available for developers and a select group of users this week. The update is still fairly nascent so the feature list is quite limited but we expect that to change in the next few weeks before its supposed January 2026 release for all iPhone users.

But one of them could be the new and easy way to transfer data between Android and iOS devices and vice versa. These tech companies have been forced to change their stance towards each other after the regular grilling and laws imposed by the European Union (EU) regulators and more people are reaping the fruits of those efforts.

iOS 26.3 Beta 1 Update: Siri Launch Getting Close?

The reports coming in this week suggest Apple is close to making the new data transfer tool work across platforms. The feature could be available within the device settings and the Google services section where you could get a new Pair with iPhone or iPad option. It suggests you will get a session ID and passcode to authenticate the seamless device transfer.

Data transfers have been a nightmare across Android and iOS devices for many years but the EU is making these companies change their tactics and make it easier for people to move across platforms. It is still early days for the feature but getting some clues about its functionality hints at the official (in beta) release expected soon.

There is still no sign of Siri 2.0 version with the iOS 26.3 beta 1 update but that could change with the next few beta numbers from the company.

The other EU-centric feature the new beta version is bringing is called Notification forwarding. This is another big change from the company as you can wear a non-Apple wearable and get notifications from the paired iPhone. It needs to be enabled from Settings but we might not be far from Android smartwatches working with Apple devices.

The iOS 26.3 beta 1 update is far away from being a stable version and the limited feature list tells you that Apple will have a lot of work to do before the full update is available to be rolled out.
