Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch early next year and the company could have some less than impressive news for buyers.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch is tipped for early next year and while many expect the brands to go for an iPhone 17-like upgrade, a new report suggests otherwise. Samsung’s new flagship phones will have a staggered hardware system which means some of the models will have significant changes while the base version could see less upgrades this year.

The memory prices are shooting up because of the AI demand, and this is going to have a serious impact on how the phones are priced and what features they offer. We’ve seen the trend develop with the OnePlus 15, iQOO 15 and a few other devices and it seems Samsung is going to join the ranks and have a similar plan for the S26 series.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Camera Changes: Nothing To Be Excited About

The details about the possible Samsung strategy come via The Elec from South Korea, which claims the company is being forced to revise its product components to keep its pricing at the same level. The iPhone 17 launched this year is one of the biggest upgrades for the base model from Apple, but even that has come with a price revision, at least in India. But Samsung might want to avoid it if the features are not going to be improved.

The report mentions the Galaxy S26 model could retain the same camera system from the S25 without any changes to the type of sensor used by the company.

The source of the report comes straight from the home region of Samsung, and going by the trends in the market, these details could become a reality when the products are announced between January-end and early February next year.

This is not a good look on Samsung, especially when Apple upgraded the iPhone 17 to a 120Hz ProMotion display, which many have been asking for many years. Apple has managed to keep the base price similar in the US, but the phone market is going to face a major upheaval if these trends don’t ease up in the next few quarters.

The company plans to have the regular Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and the S26 Ultra models in the lineup once again, while the rumours around the Pro model have been dismissed along with the continuation of the Edge moniker.
