ChatGPT 5.1 release brings new ways to make the AI chatbot respond to your queries and that is now available in India.
ChatGPT brings these new options for users in India
ChatGPT Personalities is now available for users in India. OpenAI is gradually expanding the reach of its features and the new option is part of the ChatGPT 5.1 upgrade that users in the country are seeing pop-up within the mobile and web app. As the name suggests, ChatGPT can be raw in its original AI avatar but personalities have been introduced to give the AI chatbot a different style and even tone.
This is not a new feature but the ChatGPT 5.1 release means you get to see a different version of the same tool.
ChatGPT Personalities: How It Works
Personalities is a unique way to define how ChatGPT responds to your queries and in what tone. This is quite popular with the GPT 4o version and the company somehow decided to remove it with GPT 5.0 which is why its availability on GPT 5.1 is hardly surprising. You have eight different personalities to choose from and you can change them from the settings whenever you want. The options are
- Default
- Professional
- Friendly
- Candid
- Quirky
- Efficient
- Nerdy
- Cynical
Earlier, ChatGPT had 5 options but the new GPT 5.1 release brings the three additional personalities which are Professional, Candid and Quirky. OpenAI has also tweaked the way these options respond and work for the users with better tone and more friendly.
The news comes amidst rumours about the company bringing the ChatGPT 5.2 sometime this week. This could be the response to Google’s Gemini 3 Pro release recently, which has got Sam Altman and Co in the ‘code red’ situation to make ChatGPT even better.
There have also been leaks which suggest ChatGPT ads are close to a public release but OpenAI has denied those concerns. The head of ChatGPT has taken these rumours into his own hands and publicly confirmed that OpenAI is not doing any live tests for ads on ChatGPT. Nick Turley has tried his best to sort out the confusion around ads being tested on ChatGPT.
He assures that OpenAI is not doing any live tests for ads, and if you see any clip showing that, it is not real. The company’s chief for ChatGPT says they will take a thoughtful approach and it will be designed to respect people’s trust on ChatGPT.
