Kohli and Rohit are currently representing the Indian men’s cricket team in the three-match one-day international series against South Africa, which ends on December 6.

Kohli is expected to go back to the United Kingdom, where he spends most of his time when not playing for India. and can be back for India’s three-match ODI series against New Zealand from January 11 to 18, 2026.

It is possible that Kohli can play a couple of matches before that series starts.

As per a report in PTI, the league matches are scheduled to take place at Alur, located on the outskirts of Bengaluru, as well as at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the BCCI Centre of Excellence grounds near the airport. Although the Chinnaswamy Stadium is listed as a venue, it remains uncertain if any matches will be held there due to the absence of top-level cricket since the June 4 stampede that resulted in the deaths of 11 fans during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru celebrations. The knockout matches, including the final, are planned to be held at the BCCI CoE grounds.

When Kohli Returned To Domestic Cricket

Earlier this year, Kohli turned a typically uneventful Ranji Trophy game into a spectacle when he played his first first-class match in over 12 years.

More than 12,000 people came to watch Kohli, an attendance figure rarely seen for a domestic match in recent times.

Kohli returned to the Ranji Trophy to prepare for international duty, but in a surprising move, he announced his retirement from Test cricket ahead of the England tour.
