Arshdeep Singh has cemented his place as the funniest character on the Indian men’s team. On Monday, he put up a short video pretending to ‘reveal’ what Rohit Sharma shouted from the JSCA Stadium’s pavilion when Virat Kohli reached his century in the first ODI against South Africa.
Rohit was seen quite animated in celebrating Kohli’s century. He clapped powerfully and seemed to let out a couple of Hindi expletives, with Arshdeep laughing beside him.
In a video posted by the official account of Arshdeep’s IPL team, Punjab Kings, the pacer is seen seriously mentioning that he was revealing what Rohit said exactly on popular demand. However, he went on to narrate the line of the famous Indian meme, ‘mujhe Nadia pasand hai’.
“I have been getting several messages on what Rohit bhai said after Virat bhai’s century. So, I am telling what he said. He said, ‘Neeli pari, laal pari, kamre mey band, mujhe Nadia pasand…” he said.

Rohit’s aggressive reaction is being seen as a vindication of the grapevine of Indian cricket, which says that he and Kohli are fighting ‘against’ the men’s system with their will to make it to the 2027 World Cup.
The legendary ODI duo would have either crossed 40 or would be close to that age when the tournament begins in Africa. They have also given up T20I and Test formats, leaving them without any competitive cricket apart from ODIs, domestic List-A matches, and the IPL for months.
Some reports have even claimed that the selectors don’t believe they can keep up their performances till the 2027 World Cup and thus would select them only on a merit basis for every rubber till then. However, so far, neither has given that opportunity, with both scoring a century and a half-century each in India’s last two ODIs, and looking better than not just their younger teammates but also most of the oppositions.
