Babar Azam was in action for Pakistan on Thursday, November 27, in Rawalpindi against Sri Lanka. In the sixth match of the ongoing T20I tri-series in Pakistan, Babar came out to bat at No. 3 for the Salman Ali Agha-led side in the 185-run chase but failed to even open his account. He was sent back to the pavilion by Dushmantha Chameera on the last ball of the fourth over of Pakistan’s innings. Chameera trapped Babar in front of the wickets, and he got out for a two-ball duck.
Pakistani team management and their fans had high hopes from Babar, who is the highest run-getter in T20Is, but he failed to make any contribution.
The duck by Babar on Thursday was the 10th time in T20Is he got out without scoring even one run.
The 10th duck by Babar helped him now equal the unwanted record of most ducks for the Men in Green in the 20-over format of the game. Apart from Babar, out-of-favour wicketkeeper-batter Umar Akmal and young opener Saim Ayub also have 10 ducks each to their name in T20Is.
