Samsung’s next flagship device could finally have the most desired upgrade. The company has made the design changes and even the cameras are quite good. But the 2026 lineup could see the Ultra variant get a much needed charging boost.

We’ve heard this rumour before and most times the company has failed to deliver on the expectations. But this time it feels different and having multiple reports suggest the improvement means Samsung could finally move up the charging speed ladder.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch: Time For Faster Charging

The details about the charging speed on the Galaxy S26 Ultra have been spotted in the One UI 8.5 build APK teardown, courtesy the folks at Android Authority. The report claims the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be getting Super fast charging 3.0 support which doesn’t say much in terms of the speed but going by earlier leaks, Samsung could actually bump up the speed from 45W to 60W for its upcoming flagship device.

It is still not exactly fast by the current standards, especially when you have phones available with 120W or 100W charging speeds in the market. But for Samsung this will be a shift in the right direction, and we are hoping the brand can finally deliver on these expectations.

The company has been trying out different formulas with the Galaxy S26 lineup, which many suggested could ditch the Plus for the new Edge or Pro variant. But routine business is tipped to resume with the S26 models, with three of them making their way to the market early next year.

The tipster Yogesh Brar in a post has mentioned that Samsung will bring the usual models Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and the S26 Ultra to the market in 2026. He also added that Samsung’s experiment with a thin device is unlikely to happen at least for a few generations.

We’ve heard reports about Samsung going the Pro way with the S26 lineup next year but the new update suggests the brand is back to playing it safe and to its original roots.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 series showed us that Samsung can innovate if it decides to and we hope the Galaxy S26 lineup gets the same focus.
