Netflix suffers major outage in US.
Streaming platform Netflix is down for thousands of users in the United States on Wednesday, according to Downdetector.com. Meanwhile, several users in India as well briefly reported glitches while opening the platform.
There were more than 14,290 reports of issues with the social media platform, as of 7:56 pm ET, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources.
Meanwhile, no statement regarding the disruption in the services has been issued by Netflix.
The outage hit just as the final season of Stranger Things went live. Within minutes of the premiere, social media was filled with complaints from viewers whose screens froze or apps crashed mid-play.

Given the popularity of the platform, several social media users rushed to X to share their responses of Netflix not working for them.
A cause for the problem is not known yet. However, this is not the first time that Netflix has been overwhelmed by Stranger Things traffic.
In July 2022, when the final two episodes of Season 4 dropped, the streaming service was unavailable for a brief time, as per Variety.
