WPL 2026 auction: Top overseas players who failed to find a buyer in Women’s Premier League 2026 mega auction held in New Delhi.
Alyssa Healy wnet unsold in WPL 2026 auction
The WPL 2026 mega auction delivered its share of surprises. Out of 277 players shortlisted, 67 bagged life-changing contracts.
Star India all-rounder Deepti Sharma emerged as the most expensive player at the 2026 WPL mega auction, headlining a day full of big moves and bold bids. The seasoned campaigner attracted intense competition before UP Warriorz exercised their RTM card to get her for a massive ₹3.20 crore, making him the second-highest-paid Indian in WPL history, just ₹20 lakh short of Smriti Mandhana’s landmark deal.
On the other hand, there were some high-profile overseas stars who shockingly went unsold. From World Cup performers to proven match-winners, several marquee names failed to attract a single bid, leaving fans and analysts stunned as franchises opted for new directions.
Alyssa Healy: One of the biggest shockers came early when Alyssa Healy, the Australian captain, went unsold at her base price of RS 50 lakh. Even more surprisingly, her name wasn’t brought back in the accelerated rounds, leaving fans stunned.
Alana King: Australia’s left-arm spinner, fresh off a brilliant 2025 ODI World Cup where she claimed 13 wickets in seven matches, surprisingly found no takers at the WPL auction. Despite a modest base price of ₹40 lakh and the sort of form that should’ve made her a hot pick, teams chose to look the other way.
Amy Jones: England’s wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones was another major surprise at the auction. Despite her consistency, experience, and multiple appearances in the accelerated rounds, not a single team raised a paddle for her.
Grace Harris: Grace Harris, one of Australia’s most destructive openers, also went unsold despite a modest base price of ₹30 lakh. For someone who can shift momentum in minutes, the lack of bids remained one of the day’s biggest surprises.
Tazmin Brits: Fresh off a strong performance in the recently concluded World Cup, South Africa’s Tazmin Brits shockingly found no takers at the auction. Despite her form, temperament, and experience, franchises didn’t show interest.
