ChatGPT Shopping Guide: How It Works
The new shopping tool is accessible in ChatGPT for mobile, desktop and the web version. You just have to log in with your ChatGPT account to make the best of the personalised shopping features. The company has developed the AI tool with focus on categories like electronics, garden, kitchen and appliances among others.
ChatGPT will seek your query and show results in the form of cards and you can like or say not interested to move to the next product. For TVs you can choose based on filters like high brightness, price, or even the reviews from other buyers on the internet. The AI chatbot flows in the conversational format and you can select the tool from the menu in ChatGPT.
The feature takes you to the final checkout stage but the actual purchase can be only made on the e-commerce site where you found the best deal. ChatGPT is not giving Agentic AI powers to let you buy within its platform but we could see that upgraded, possibly for those with the premium plan.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said that he is abandoning OpenAI’s ChatGPT in favour of Google’s newest AI model Gemini 3, calling the upgrade a dramatic leap in performance across reasoning, speed and multimodal capabilities.
“Holy shit,” Marc Benioff wrote, adding, “I’ve used ChatGPT every day for 3 years. Just spent 2 hours on Gemini 3. I’m not going back. The leap is insane- reasoning, speed, images, video… everything is sharper and faster. It feels like the world just changed, again.”
