Deepti Sharma, Alyssa Healy, Laura Wolvaardt and others headline the WPL 2026 auction in New Delhi, with 277 players vying for 73 slots across five franchises.

Eight superstars will reportedly comprise the marquee set for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 auction. These are: Deepti Sharma, Alyssa Healy, Laura Wolvaardt, Renuka Singh, Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, Amelia Kerr, and Meg Lanning.
A total of 277 registered players grouped into 39 sets will go under the hammer on November 27 in New Delhi. The marquee set will open the proceedings. In it, only Renuka (Rs. 40 lakh) and Wolvaardt (Rs. 30 lakh) have base prices below the maximum of Rs. 50 lakh.
A total of 73 slots, including 23 for overseas players, are available across the five franchises. Of the 277 players, 83 are overseas, 155 are uncapped, and four are from Associate nations.
India leads the representation with 194 players, followed by Australia (23), England (22), New Zealand (13), and South Africa (11). Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have three players each, while the UAE, Thailand, and the USA also have representation.
Bangladesh’s Shorna Akter and West Indies’ Jahzara Claxton are the youngest capped names in the auction list. Assam wicketkeeper Uma Chetry and all-rounder Kranti Goud, who were part of the 2025 Women’s World Cup winning squad, have entered the highest bracket of Rs. 50 lakh among capped players.
Among capped all-rounders, Harleen Deol and Phoebe Litchfield headline the Rs. 50 lakh bracket. Radha Yadav, Sneh Rana (who went unsold in the last auction before being roped in as a replacement by Royal Challengers Bengaluru), Grace Harris, Chinelle Henry, and N Shree Charani (another find of the World Cup) make up the rest of that set.
The spinner group includes Australia’s best player at the World Cup, Alana King (Rs. 40 lakh), Asha Sobhana and Priya Mishra (both INR 30 lakh), along with Saika Ishaque, who represented MI in the first three seasons. Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong and the USA’s Tara Norris stand out as the sole representatives from their countries.
UAE stars Esha Oza and Theertha Satish complete the Associate contingent in the auction pool. No players from Ireland or Scotland have registered, with former DC player Sarah Bryce absent this year.
UP Warriorz, who retained only Shweta Sehrawat, will have the highest purse of Rs. 14.5 crore and hold four RTM cards. Gujarat Giants follow with Rs. 9 crore, while RCB, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals have Rs. 6.15 crore, 5.75 crore, and 5.7 crore, respectively. MI and DC, having retained five players each, will have no RTM cards available at the table.
