Nano Banana AI image tools are now making their way to Google Photos for users and the Ask Photos feature is finally coming to the photos app as well. These AI features coming to the Photos app means people can do a lot more with their images and even style them with the help of creative prompts, powered by Nano Banana.

In total you get 6 new AI tools that promise to make photo editing fun, easier and also adds other capabilities to the AI model. The major update is part of the big November 2025 Pixel Drop for Pixel users but the Photos app update will be coming for both iOS and Android users, starting with US and India for now.

Google Photos AI Update: What You Get

Google is using the power of Nano Banana to bring these AI editing tools. The features will be capable of removing sunglasses from your face, make you smile in photos, and add a new style in the image. Nano Banana has been a big hit since its release a few months back, and now reports suggest that Nano Banana 2 launch is getting close.

Ask Photos has been in the news before, but Google was forced to pull out the feature because of initial mistakes. The tool is more like an AI-powered search option that lets you find images with specific keywords and you can do it using voice or text prompts.

Photos was always going to be part of the AI-fication for Google with Gemini AI model and now we are gradually seeing its imprint which will only get broader and louder. Using prompts to change/edit photos was going to appeal to millions and Google’s quick efforts to have Nano Banana available across the board tells you where the company stands in the current race.

We’ve not always been keen on software editing to change the nature or context of an image but AI is taking these standards to a whole new level and it seems to be working fine.
