Star Australian cricketer Beth Mooney has said that even as Jemimah Rodrigues was worried about whether she would be allowed entry Down Under after her knock in the World Cup semifinals against Australia, the Aussies were afraid of whether they would be allowed to enter the country after not being able to defend their title.
The exchange followed Rodrigues’ cheeky remark about whether she would be permitted into Australia after her match-winning semi-final innings that eliminated the seven-time champions from the Women’s World Cup.
Later, in a separate game, Mooney took the chance to fire back with a witty response. Watch the video here:

“We heard Jemi say earlier that she was worried they were not going to let her in the country because they beat us, but I actually thought they were not going to let us back in for losing,” Mooney said while speaking to the commentators during a Women’s Big Bash League game.
“Thankfully, immigration let me in,” Mooney added.
Rodrigues’ World Cup semi-final innings was a masterpiece, an unbeaten 127 that powered India’s record chase of 339 runs alongside captain Harmanpreet Kaur. The duo stitched a 167-run stand for the third wicket to bag India’s spot in the final.
India later beat South Africa in Navi Mumbai to claim their maiden Women’s World Cup title, but Rodrigues’ match-winning knock against defending champions Australia stood out as one of the tournament’s defining moments.
Jemimah had a subdued start to her Women’s Big Bash League campaign, managing just six runs off nine deliveries for Brisbane Heat in a seven-wicket defeat to Melbourne Renegades.
