Here’s a look at the complete list of changes in Team India for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa from the last series played against the West Indies.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to X on Wednesday (November 5) to announce India’s squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. In the team picked for the home series starting November 14 in Kolkata, Rishabh Pant is back. Pant, who is India’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batter in the five-day format of the game, missed the two-match Test series against the West Indies last month along with the fifth Test against England at The Oval due to a foot injury that he suffered on Day 1 of the fourth India-England Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Along with him, one more player is back in the squad, whereas as many as two players, who were part of the Test squad against the West Indies, have been left out.

Here’s a look at the complete list of changes in Team India for the two-match Test series against South Africa.

IN: Rishabh Pant is back in the Test team after being on the sidelines for more than three months due to a foot injury. In the home series against South Africa, he will be Shubman Gill’s deputy and is all set to play as a first-choice wicketkeeper-batter. In addition to Pant, pacer Akash Deep is also back for the home series. Akash last played a Test match against England at The Oval from July 31 to August 4, and then he also suffered an injury which kept him out of action for a couple of months.

OUT: Narayan Jagadeesan and Prasidh Krishna are out of India’s Test team for the home series against South Africa. Jagadeesan and Prasidh were part of the West Indies series, but they didn’t get a chance to play any match. Prasidh last played a Test for India at The Oval against England, whereas Jagadeesan is yet to make his debut for the Indian team.

Retained players: Captain Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav are 13 players who have managed to retain their place in the Test team. Of these 13 players, 11 played in both the Tests against the West Indies.
