The celebrations are far from over!

Fresh off their historic ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 triumph, the Indian women’s cricket team touched down in New Delhi on Tuesday to a hero’s welcome, ahead of their scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

Led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, the squad was all smiles as they arrived at their hotel in the capital, where an exuberant welcome awaited them.

Cheers, fireworks, and music filled the air as fans and hotel staff greeted India’s first-ever women’s World Cup-winning side.

The team, dressed in their team’s training kit blues, cut a celebratory cake before breaking into an impromptu dance.

India’s title win came after a dominant campaign that saw them dethrone defending champions Australia in a record-breaking semifinal chase before outclassing South Africa by 52 runs in the final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

In a moment that will be remembered as a milestone in Indian cricket, the Indian women’s team lifted their first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup trophy after a thrilling campaign that united the nation in celebration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had earlier congratulated the team on social media, is reportedly set to host the champions at his residence on Wednesday morning, where he will personally felicitate the players for their historic feat.

“A spectacular win by the Indian team in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Finals,” Modi posted on X. “Their performance was marked by great skill and confidence. This historic win will motivate future champions to take up sports.”
