Chrome security risk for Windows and Mac users, and they are being warned.

Google Chrome users in India have got another major security threat and the alert for this issue came via the Indian government a few days back. The latest Chrome security warning dated October 30, 2025 has been posted by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) with a high severity ranking, which ought to get millions of Chrome users in the country extremely concerned.

The CERT-In bulletin this week clearly highlights the issues in Chrome browser and how it might affect the users. “Multiple vulnerabilities exist in Google Chrome due Type Confusion in V8, Inappropriate implementation in V8,Extensions, App-Bound Encryption, Autofill; Object lifecycle issue in Media, Race in V8,Storage; Incorrect security UI in Omnibox,Fullscreen UI, SplitView; Policy bypass in Extensions, Use after free in PageInfo, Ozone and Out of bounds read in V8,WebXR. A remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted webpage,” the security agency has said. 

These are very important components built into the structure of the Chrome browser and the issues are serious enough for Google to take notice, same for the Indian government authorities.

Chrome Security Issue: Who Is At Risk? 

Chrome users on Windows, MacOS and Linux are being warned about the risks and these versions have been mentioned: 

• Google Chrome versions prior to 142.0.7444.59 for Linux
• Google Chrome versions prior to 142.0.7444.59/60 for Windows and Mac
• Google Chrome versions prior to 142.0.7444.60 for Mac

How To Update Chrome On Windows and Mac

Chrome users must download the latest available software update for Google Chrome on Windows, macOS and Linux. You can do this by heading over to the three-dot menu on Chrome – Settings – About – Update Chrome. Google has listed the security fixes that come with the stable channel update.
