Samsung has upgraded its Wallet app in India this week, bringing a wide range of UPI-centric features that can make it the go-to app for payments in the country. The platform is also going to let you make UPI payment via biometric feature which makes it PIN-free and more secure for smartphone users.

Samsung Wallet has been around for a while but the UPI-based upgrades are being rolled out so that Samsung smartphones can do all the UPI onboarding steps from their device itself.

Samsung Wallet Gets More UPI Support

Samsung is bringing a one-stop UPI payment solution for its smartphones in the country. You can set up a new UPI account through the device on the Samsung Wallet app, and make payments without PIN and just use the fingerprint sensor to authorise the payment. Samsung says it is the first brand to have this level of UPI integration in the country.

The app will also let you pay using credit and debit cards that you save on the Wallet app and use them to pay at stores and outlets. The company has even added Tap and Pay option with Forex cards so that you can go abroad and easily use the merchant support for easy payments. We hope these payment options within the Wallet app are not limited to the premium Galaxy phones.

Speaking of UPI payments, Zoho is now eyeing the payment space with its own app called Zoho Pay in the country. The UPI-based payment app is currently being tested internally and reports suggest Zoho could launch its new product in the next few weeks.

Zoho Pay is not likely to complicate the setup, but its integration with Arattai messaging app seems inevitable, especially with the company chief highlighting this aspect in their recent interviews.

Zoho Pay will work within the Arattai app just like how UPI works through WhatsApp for users in India. You will be able to send/receive money, pay your bills, recharge your mobile number, and do all this without heading out of the app. The whole logic of a super app seems relevant with Zoho Pay and the company is looking to bring all its products under one umbrella.
