Shah Rukh Khan returned with another fun round of #AskSRK, leaving fans entertained, just before turning 60. He answered questions about his movies, life and upcoming plans, but one fan’s request for a room in Mannat stole the spotlight. At the moment, King Khan’s iconic bungalow Mannat is under renovation, and he has moved into luxury apartments nearby for close to two years along with his family.
When a fan asked for a place to stay in his iconic bungalow during his Mumbai visit for SRK’s birthday, the actor came up with a reply that won the Internet.
During the latest #AskSRK session, one lucky fan who travelled all the way to Mumbai decided to make a bold request to Shah Rukh Khan. Excited to celebrate the superstar’s 60th birthday in the city, the fan asked, “Sir, apke birthday ke liye Mumbai pahunch gaye hain, lekin room nahi mil rahi. Mannat pe ek room milega kya sir? (Sir, I’ve reached Mumbai for your birthday, but I can’t find a room. Can I get one in Mannat?).”
King Khan jokingly replied, “Mannat mein toh mere paas bhi room nahi hai aaj kal. Bhaade pe reh raha hoon. (I don’t even have a room in Mannat these days. I’m living on rent).”
Where Is Shah Rukh Khan Living?
Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly moved into an apartment building in Pali Hill, Bandra, where his family has leased four floors, the first, second, seventh and eighth. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the leased space includes areas designated for the family’s security team, staff quarters, and a small office setup. The superstar is said to be paying around Rs 24 lakh per month for the four floors.
Fans Crowding Mannat
With renovation work underway at Mannat, many fans speculated whether Shah Rukh Khan would skip his yearly tradition of greeting them outside his bungalow on his birthday. During his recent #AskSRK session on X (formerly Twitter), a fan asked him about it. Putting all rumours to rest, the Jawan star confirmed that the annual fan meet will indeed take place, and even added a twist to his reply.
The actor said, “Of course, but may have to wear a hard hat.”

Born on November 2, 1965, in New Delhi, Shah Rukh Khan studied at St. Columba’s School, where he excelled in both academics and sports. He then completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hansraj College, Delhi University. During this time, he also became an active member of Delhi’s Theatre Action Group (TAG).
Khan later made his first screen appearance in the TV series Fauji, released in 1989, which made him a familiar face and opened doors to more television work, including Aziz Mirza’s Circus. After gaining attention on TV, he moved to films and made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with the movie Deewana, co-starring Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor.
