Australia skipper Alyssa Healy completed her fitness test two days ahead of the Women’s World Cup semifinal clash against hosts India and in all likelihood, will feature in the game where they would try and get one step closer to their title defence.

Healy missed the league games against arch-rivals England and South Africa because of a calf injury sustained during training, with Tahlia McGrath taking over as Australia’s skipper.

Healy has been in brilliant form throughout the World Cup, smacking consecutive hundreds against India and Bangladesh, as Australia remained unbeaten in the league games to top the points table.

“Australia skipper Alyssa Healy trained strongly on Tuesday (October 28) just two days before Australia’s ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 semi-final clash against India,” the International Cricket Council said in an injury update on Tuesday.

“In Mumbai, Healy gave positive indications that her recovery was progressing well, getting through a fitness test at the start of the session. She then participated in wicket-keeping drills before undertaking a full net session, the latter half of which she was seen going big against the net bowlers,” the ICC added.

Australia head coach Shelley Nitschke had expressed before the Indore game against South Africa that she was optimistic that Healy would be fit in time for the semifinal.

“She was not quite up to it (for the match against South Africa), but she will continue to be assessed,” Nitschke had said after Australia’s seven-wicket victory over South Africa.

“We are really hopeful for the semifinal, but still have a few days to play out before that. And we are hopeful again, she will just continue to be assessed the closer we get to that,” Nitschke had added.

Healy’s standout performance in the Women’s World Cup came against India, where she scored 142 runs, smacking 21 boundaries and three sixes, guiding Australia to a three-wicket win.
