BCCI President Mithun Manhas pledged full support to Jammu and Kashmir Minister Satish Sharma for developing cricket infrastructure and nurturing talent across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Mithun Manhas assured the Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday of full support in developing cricket at all levels in the Union Territory, according to an official spokesman.
This assurance was given during a meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma.
Sharma and Manhas engaged in extensive discussions about promoting and developing cricket infrastructure and related activities throughout Jammu and Kashmir, the spokesman said.
During the meeting, the Minister highlighted the Government’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent and strengthening grassroots cricket within the Union Territory.
Sharma stressed the importance of modern training facilities, youth engagement programmes, and organised tournaments to identify and support emerging players.
Additionally, the Minister called for special emphasis on border areas as well as remote and far-flung regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
He explored the possibilities of hosting inter-district and national-level tournaments, enhancing coaching support, and upgrading existing cricket infrastructure to meet national standards.
The spokesman said Sharma reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to making Jammu and Kashmir a hub of sporting excellence, especially in cricket, through collaborative efforts between the Jammu and Kashmir administration and national sporting bodies.
The BCCI President commended the initiatives undertaken by the Jammu and Kashmir Government and assured the BCCI’s full cooperation in developing cricket at all levels in Jammu and Kashmir, the spokesman added.
