At 63, Anju left her 25-year career in the US to return to India, where she was deeply moved by the struggles of Indian farmers and decided to dedicate herself to helping them.

Anju observed that Indian farmers had acres of land but empty pockets. Determined to help them, she rented a small plot of land from the farmers and employed them.

She planned to build a good business by growing and selling exotic herbs. However, this plan did not succeed. She couldn’t find any buyers, and the potted plants didn’t sell, resulting in losses and surplus herbs accumulating.

Anju wasn’t discouraged. She put her mind to work and came up with a brilliant idea. She transformed basil into pesto dip and began selling it in small shops around the city under the name Wingreens Farms. Gradually, it became a miracle! People liked it so much that sales skyrocketed through word of mouth.

Anju realised that healthy, authentic dips and sauces like those in America simply weren’t sold in India. She launched over 20 varieties and continued to support farmers. Wingreens Farms captured the market, holding 90% market share during peak season, and today generates annual sales of over Rs 250 crore.

Anju’s story is an inspiration for every Indian. Leaving the glitz of foreign lands and returning home isn’t easy, but with passion, anything is possible. She not only built her own empire but also enriched thousands of farmers. By transforming native herbs like basil into dips, she demonstrated that success tastes sweetest when it’s indigenous.

Today, Wingreens Farms dips are found in every kitchen, and Anju’s smile reflects the joy that comes from genuine support. Anju’s spirit also proves that Indian startups have magic; all it takes is courage.
