Samsung Galaxy S26 series was expected to have a Pro variant but it seems the company is not going to pull out a surprise.

Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup could be similar but delayed
Samsung is reverting back to the usual naming series for the Galaxy S26 lineup next year and that means no S26 Edge or a S26 Pro model in the offing. The company did try to spice up the lineup with a S25 Edge sleek device this year, which meant we got four devices in the S25 series but routine business is tipped to resume with the S26 models, with three of them making their way to the market early next year.
The new details have come from a tipster this week, which pretty much confirms the rumours about Samsung killing the Edge model after bringing the first device earlier this year.
Back To The Roots
The tipster Yogesh Brar in a post has mentioned that Samsung will bring the usual models Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and the S26 Ultra to the market in 2026. He also added that Samsung’s experiment with a thin device is unlikely to happen at least for a few generations. We’ve heard reports about Samsung going the Pro way with the S26 lineup next year but the new update suggests the brand is back to playing it safe and to its original roots.
This is not the worst news we’ve heard and going for something that has worked before does sound like a sensible move. Having said that, Samsung really needs to make a big change to its flagship lineup, similar to its latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 iteration that has been its best since the origin of the series.
The competition has shown the need to innovate and it is time the S26 series gets a fair chunk of upgrades to make it a compelling option for buyers at launch, not when the sale discounts happen.
Late Galaxy S26 Launch In 2026?
Besides this, Samsung is looking to bring the new Galaxy S26 lineup a little later than we’ve become accustomed to in the last few years. The 2026 model is rumoured to launch in March next year, which could put it in line with the next edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, something the brand has a history of doing before.
The new flagship is said to be using the Exynos 2600 SoC in some regions, and continue to have the Snapdragon 8 Elite option available as well. Another report claims over 50 percent of the S26 lineup could use the Exynos chip which will be worth keeping an eye on.
