In the latest episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle, Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar joined the hosts for a candid conversation that moved seamlessly between laughter, vulnerability, and self-reflection. While Johar opened up about his long battle with body dysmorphia, Kapoor spoke about facing constant trolling and the harsh scrutiny surrounding her appearance.

Addressing online criticism, Kapoor noted that trolls often try to undermine people by making baseless accusations or comments about cosmetic procedures.

“People [trolls] say so much… I think their intention is to take away from you, hurling accusations… Accha isne toh plastic, acha isne to wo [cosmetic procedures] kia hai [They got the transplant or some other cosmetic procedure done on them], if you are looking good or have put yourself out there,” added Kapoor.

She went on to say that such remarks don’t define a person’s worth or confidence. “Saying someone ‘plastic’, it does not take the power away from them,” the actor concluded.

The discussion took a confident turn when Kapoor declared, “I look banging,” emphasizing that her value extends far beyond physical appearance. “I am not a better person because I have done something or because I haven’t done something,” she said, adding that true self-worth isn’t tied to meeting beauty expectations. Her statement earned enthusiastic agreement from both Kajol and Twinkle Khanna.

The conversation also delved into the beauty standards within the film industry. Drawing an analogy, Khanna compared self-enhancement to maintaining a house, saying that even a little upkeep can increase its value. Kapoor responded by encouraging acceptance, saying, “And if you don’t do anything, more power to you. But just live and let live.”

Kapoor also expressed concern over how dermatologists and self-proclaimed beauty experts dissect celebrities’ faces online to speculate about cosmetic procedures. She explained that she had even seen videos naming treatments she had never heard of.

“I don’t want to perpetuate the idea of perfection among young girls,” Kapoor said, stressing the importance of promoting self-acceptance and responsible messaging. While she supports people doing what makes them happy, she cautioned against young women making impulsive decisions based on misinformation. “What if some girl goes for a procedure, and something happens, it would be the worst thing,” she added.

Kapoor concluded the episode by reflecting on personal growth, acknowledging that she’s still learning to navigate not just public scrutiny, but also how to handle the complexities of the male ego.

The episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
