Even though the Indian stock market will open for a special one-hour session today for the Diwali Muhurat Trading 2025, many bank customers are wondering whether banks are open or closed on Tuesday, October 21. As per the RBI’s bank holiday list for October 2025, banks will remain closed in a few cities, including Mumbai, Bhopal and Guwahati. However, banks will be open as usual in most Indian cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad on October 21.

According to the RBI list, banks will remain closed today in Mumbai, Bhopal, Belapur, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Jammu, Nagpur, Raipur and Srinagar, on account of ‘Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan)/Deepawali/Govardhan Pooja’.
The bank branches will remain open as usual on October 21 in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Agartala, Kanpur, Shimla, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Aizawl, Itanagar, Kochi, Kohima, Panaji, Ranchi, Shillong, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada, Patna.
