He notes that as muscles demand more oxygen during walking, the lungs adapt by expanding more efficiently, improving the volume of air they can handle. “Walking strengthens breathing muscles, improves oxygen flow, and clears lungs and helps boost overall respiratory efficiency naturally,” says Dr. Kotaru.
