Apple has announced its new M5 chipset for the new devices like the MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and even the Vision Pro headset on Wednesday. The M5 upgrade was widely tipped for October 2025 and Apple has confirmed those leaks with the official release without an event.
The M5 processor is getting a performance upgrade over the M4 which was expected and you will be seeing this show its value with the new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models. You also have the Vision Pro headset getting a hardware upgrade with the M5 chipset but some design changes are also mentioned.
Apple MacBook Pro M5 And iPad Pro M5 Price In India And Sale Date
Apple MacBook Pro M5 14-inch model price in India starts at Rs 1,69,900 which is the same as the M4 version, and you have the option to buy it with an education discount for Rs 1,59,900 in the country. The new MacBook Pro M5 will go on sale from October 22, 2025 in India.
The iPad Pro M5 model starts at Rs 99,900 for the base 11-inch Wi-Fi model, while the cellular variant costs Rs 1,19,900. The 13-inch iPad Pro M5 is priced at Rs 1,29,900 for the Wi-Fi model. The iPad Pro M5 will also be available from October 22, 2025 in the country.
Apple MacBook Pro M5 And iPad Pro M5 Specifications
The 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 looks and feels like the previous version and most of the changes are on the hardware front. It has a 10-core CPU and comes in a 10-core GPU variant like the other models. You can get it with up to 32GB RAM and 4TB of SSD storage, and all variants are available.
The more important upgrade is the 16-core neural engine which is primed to take over the on-device AI tasks. The same 14-inch Liquid Retina display has been retained which comes with 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate. You can also pay extra for the nano-texture display variant.
The iPad Pro M5 is also a hardware upgrade with the M5 chipset which offers the same specifications as the new MacBook Pro model. Apple claims the AI image generation will be 2 times faster thanks to the improved power output. It features 11-inch and 13-inch display options, with ProMotion tech and 1,600 nits of peak brightness.
Apple also launched the M5 with Vision Pro headset that seems to have skipped India as one of the regions once again.
