Copilot is Microsoft’s rival for ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity AI and the new update is trying to woo more people to Windows 11 PCs.

Windows 10 is done, and now Microsoft is fully focused on Windows 11
Windows 10 support has ended this week and now Microsoft is raising the stakes for Windows 11 by giving people more features. The company has announced Hey Copilot assistant which basically is the trigger word to let the AI chatbot do the tasks for you, and let your fingers take a break. But Microsoft claims the changes are not just about the features but the tonality and the way Copilot will seamlessly help users with varied tasks.
Microsoft has tried out the Recall feature which was initially criticised for its lack of privacy and security measures but the new update brings all of that and more.
Windows 11 AI Upgrade: Ready For AI PC?
The main highlight with the new Windows 11 update is the Hey Copilot assistant which works like Siri, Gemini and Alexa. The hands-free trigger word is the understandable switch and now you can continue talking to the AI chatbot without saying ‘Hey Copilot’ every time.
When you are done talking to Copilot just say goodbye and the conversation layer ends there for that moment. The feature is manually enabled so only those opting in will be able to make use of the hands-free assistant version. Voice chats seem to be the go-to roadmap for AI in the future and Microsoft adding this version was inevitable.
Copilot In Everything
The Microsoft AI assistant is also getting its vision and by that we mean it can see what is there on the screen and assist you in any way possible. It can suggest tips while you are doing some research, checking documents or even editing photos. This sounds very much like Recall but with Copilot powering the whole operation on the front end.
Copilot is also coming to the taskbar on Windows 11 PCs where they can summon the AI chatbot for voice or vision features. The Agentic AI stretch of the Copilot update is called Actions. AI agents just need a prompt to do the task and it will do it on your behalf, while letting you focus on other things.
Copilot is getting all the ingredients to make Windows 11 a platform for the AI era but it faces a tough fight against ChatGPT, Gemini and even Perplexity that has its Comet AI browser available in the market.
