Nothing continues to add new features to its devices and the latest update brings call recording to its Phone models with the help of a physical key. Nothing is offering the feature that can be triggered using the Essential key button that is available on Nothing Phone models launched in the last 12 months.

The brand confirmed the new support via a post on X this week, which also shows us how the call recording can happen without needing to move away from the screen if you have the eligible Nothing Phone model.

Nothing Phone Gets Instant Call Recording Support: Here’s How

Nothing bought Essential for features like these, including the new support for call recording with a physical button. The Essential Key made its debut with the Nothing Phone 3 and 3a models, and this button is enabling the new tool which goes beyond capturing the calls.

The company says you can start the recording by long pressing the Essential Key, and once the call ends, all the data will be saved in the Essential Space app so that you can listen to it later. In addition to this, the app will offer a transcription for the call, along with summary and main topics that were discussed on the call. The rollout will be done automatically and you don’t need to update any app to get the feature.

Not For Everyone

But like we said, you need the Nothing Phone 3, 3a, and 3a Pro models to use the new feature with the Essential key. This means, the older Nothing Phone 2, 2a and 2 Plus among others will not be offered the new call recording support.

More importantly, the feature will be offered for the select Nothing users in the UK, India, Japan, South Korea and Thailand among others. Nothing has said that the Essential ecosystem will evolve with time and these features are likely to bring more users to tap into the AI-powered suite. The company is also build an AI-centric operating system which has been teased with the new Nothing OS 4.0 version.
