In 2025, Juhi Chawla made headlines for a different reason. She and her family featured prominently on the M3M Hurun India Rich List, emerging as one of the wealthiest names in the industry.
Wealth Growth In 2025
According to the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025, Juhi and her family’s net worth is estimated at Rs 7,790 crore. This marks a jump from her 2024 net worth, which was Rs 4,600 crore. It is a growth of over 69 per cent in just one year. The significant increase is largely linked to her family’s stake in Knight Riders Sports, the company that owns the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cricket franchise. The franchise has seen a surge in its brand value, which has directly contributed to her wealth.
Ranking Among Bollywood Icons
On the list, Juhi ranks second among Bollywood stars just behind Shah Rukh Khan, whose fortune is Rs 12,490 crore. She surpasses other prominent names such as Hrithik Roshan (Rs 2,160 crore), Karan Johar (Rs 1,880 crore) and Amitabh Bachchan (Rs 1,630 crore).
In 2024, Juhi was the highest-earning Bollywood actress as she surpassed popular stars like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor.
Top Self-Made Women
Juhi is the only Bollywood personality in the top 10 self-made women on the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025. She holds the sixth position in the list, which is led by Jayshree Ullal of Arista Networks with Rs 50,170 crore. Following Ullal is Zoho co-founder Radha Vembu, who has a net worth of Rs 46,580 crore. Other notable names include Nykaa’s Falguni Nayar, Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Ruchi Kalra of Ofbusiness.
Juhi also ranks above several well-known business leaders such as Lenskart’s Neha Bansal, PepsiCo’s Indra K. Nooyi, Neha Narkhede and her family of Confluent and Upstox co-founder Kavitha Subramanian.
Contribution Of KKR Investments
A major factor behind Juhi’s wealth growth is the rising value of the Kolkata Knight Riders. She co-owns the team along with her husband, Jay Mehta and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. KKR’s brand valuation jumped by 19.3 per cent to $216 million (Rs 1,915 crore) after their IPL 2024 victory.
The league itself also increased in value, which is now at $16.4 billion (Rs 1.45 lakh crore), according to the IPL Brand Valuation Study by Houlihan Lokey.
Latest Movie Projects
Juhi rose to fame in the 1990s as one of Bollywood’s leading actresses. She began her acting journey with a brief role in Sultanat (1986), but it was her performance in Aamir Khan’s Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) that became her breakthrough and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Over the years, she has charmed audiences with films like Mr and Mrs Khiladi, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Ishq, Yes Boss, Darr, Deewana Mastana and more.
In recent years, Juhi has appeared in only a few films and hasn’t had a major Bollywood release. Her latest project was Friday Night Plan (2023), which starred Babil Khan in the lead role.
