Elon Musk is going to compete with information platform Wikipedia and guess what his platform will be called? Grokipedia. This will be designed by xAI which runs on the Grok AI chatbot and other AI products in the market.
Grokipedia seems like a platform that will be powered by the Grok chatbot and source its information from the internet and other bases. Musk has discreetly said Grokipedia 1.0 will be launching soon for users which could be an intriguing addition to the internet. So what is the new platform going to offer and how it could work through the Grok AI ecosystem? Here are some of the details.
Grokipedia 1.0 Launching: What Is It?
Elon Musk confirmed in a post on X that Grokipedia 1.0 early beta will be published in two weeks. The post that he shared about the new platform claims, Grokipedia will be aiming to be the world’s biggest and most accurate knowledge source, for humans and AI with no limits on how you can use it.
It is not shocking to see Musk take on Wikipedia and this comes after multiple instances where he criticised the platform and questioned its source of funds being a non-profit entity. He also mentioned that Wikipedia could be allegedly focused on leftist views and responses.
Better Than Wikipedia
That’s what Musk has promised with the Grokipedia 1.0 version rolling out later this month. We are eager to hear more about the new platform and how it plans to operate but it is likely to be served within the Grok Premium subscription for starters and gradually make it available for a wider audience.
Community notes have become the common option on platforms like X and Facebook these days, but Musk wants to go one step further and deliver an ecosystem that acts as a hub for information and other sources.
Musk is also busy competing with OpenAI, not only in the AI chatbot race but also the legal corners. Grok AI has become a potent tool for information, image generation and other creative needs, including deep research.
