ChatGPT users on the web, mobile and the WhatsApp bot facing login issues
ChatGPT is down once again and many users have shared issues using the AI chatbot on the web and mobile app on Monday. Many ChatGPT users have shared their frustration with delayed responses from the AI chatbot, while some of them are not able to access the platform altogether.
The outage has been confirmed via multiple reports on Downdetector but OpenAI is yet to update its systems and confirm the issue at its end. Social media is understandably responding to the ChatGPT outage issues, especially on the first day of the work week, and making many people catch up with early lunch.
The latest ChatGPT outage reports started around 13:02 PM IST on October 6, 2025 and have escalated with over seven hundred reports cited on the outage tracker platform. The majority of these complaints are related to the ChatGPT app and the web version not responding to their queries with a message, “Something went wrong while generating the response. If the issue persists please contact help.”
Even after seeing multiple posts on X about the ChatGPT outage, OpenAI is yet to fully confirm the issue or update its Status page for further details.
ChatGPT users in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai among others were having issues accessing their account but the brief outage seems to have been resolved and most of them are back online.
