Stocks To Watch
Stocks To Watch On October 3: Markets staged a sharp rebound on Wednesday, breaking an eight-session losing streak, driven by upbeat domestic cues. Sentiment improved after the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee left the repo rate unchanged at 5.5%—as widely expected—while expressing confidence in the economy’s growth prospects. Easing crude oil prices and strength in global equities added further support.
In Thursday’s session, several stocks are likely to remain in focus on the back of key developments:
Tata Motors
Tata Motors, buoyed by robust SUV and electric vehicle sales, has overtaken Hyundai Motor India and Mahindra & Mahindra in September registrations, while extending its lead over JSW MG Motor in the EV segment. Data from the government’s Vahan portal shows the company climbed from fourth place a year ago to second, trailing only Maruti Suzuki.
In a separate update, Tata Motors reported its highest-ever quarterly sales in Q2FY26 at 15.07 lakh units, up 22% year-on-year, driven by demand for two- and three-wheelers. September sales rose 12% to 5.41 lakh units, supported by motorcycles, scooters, and EVs.
Adani Green Energy
Adani Green’s solar power deal—already under scrutiny in a US bribery probe—faces additional hurdles as its key buyer, the state of Andhra Pradesh, has sought assurances on waiving transmission charges. According to Reuters, the fee—mandated under central law—could raise solar power costs by about 40%, making the waiver request a challenge.
Maruti Suzuki
The country’s largest carmaker reported a 3% year-on-year increase in total sales for September, at 1,89,665 units, compared with 1,84,727 units in the same month last year.
Waaree Energies
The renewable energy company approved plans to scale up its Lithium-Ion Advanced Chemistry Storage Cell and BESS manufacturing capacity from 3.5 GWh to 20 GWh. The expansion entails a capital expenditure of ₹8,000 crore through its wholly owned unit, Waaree Energy Storage Solutions.
Reliance Industries
Reliance Consumer Products will partner with multiple regional water producers for its new affordable water brand, Campa Sure. The company aims to disrupt the highly competitive ₹30,000-crore packaged water market through aggressive pricing.
Coal India
The state-run miner reported a 3.9% year-on-year drop in production to 48.97 MT in September 2025, while off-take slipped 1.1% to 53.56 MT. These provisional figures cover the April–September 2025 period.
United Spirits
The Bombay High Court has set aside a ₹443-crore water charge claim raised by Maharashtra’s Water Resources Department against United Spirits.
V-Mart Retail
V-Mart posted a 22% year-on-year revenue rise in Q2FY26 to ₹807 crore, supported by an 11% increase in same-store sales. The retailer also opened 25 new outlets during the quarter, expanding its footprint to 533 stores.
RBL Bank
The lender has received a GST show-cause notice of ₹92 crore, including interest and penalty, for FY20, related to input tax credit claimed under its digital banking registration.
PVR INOX
The Competition Commission of India has launched an investigation into PVR INOX for allegedly misusing its dominant market position by continuing to levy a virtual print fee on producers, despite cinema halls fully shifting to digital projection.
Hyundai Motor India
Hyundai has begun passenger vehicle production at its Talegaon facility in Pune, which has an annual installed capacity of 1.7 lakh units.
