Sana Mir sparked controversy with her Azad Kashmir remark during Pakistan vs Bangladesh in Colombo.

Former Pakistan captain, Sana Mir
Former Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Sana Mir has landed in hot water for her controversial remark during the ongoing Women’s ODI World Cup. Mir, a part of the commentary panel, was calling the Bangladesh vs Pakistan game in Colombo when she made a politically charged comment.
It was the 29th over of Pakistan’s innings when Natalia Pervaiz walked out to bat. Commentating on her background, Mir initially said the batter was from “Kashmir” before correcting herself to “Azad Kashmir,” a term India refers to as Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The video of the incident has now gone viral on social media, baffling the people of India.
Hello @ICC @BCCIWhat is this, ‘Player from Azad Kashmir’? Who is this commentator, is this kind of commentary allowed?
If yes, then in future if someone mentions Azad Balochistan in cricket commentary, then we hope you will not have any problem with it. pic.twitter.com/05GKiFYylm

Pakistan Suffer 7-wicket Defeat
Pakistan faltered against Bangladesh’s disciplined attack, folding for 129 in 38.3 overs. Young pacer Marufa Akter (2/31) delivered a fiery opening burst, removing Omaima Sohail and Sidra Amin for golden ducks. Veteran Nahida Akter (2/19) and teenager Shorna Akter (3/5) tightened the screws, sharing five wickets between them. Pakistan never recovered, managing just 14 boundaries in a lacklustre display.
Chasing 130, Rubya anchored the innings with a composed 54* off 77 balls, including eight boundaries, and stitched a 62-run third-wicket stand with Sultana (23). Despite early losses of Fargana Hoque and Sharmin Akhter, Rubya shifted gears, hammering three fours in one over from Nashra Sandhu to put the chase firmly under control. Bangladesh reached 131/3 in 31.1 overs, with 113 balls to spare.
