Abhishek Sharma joined Virat Kohli in an elite list after crossing the 200-run mark in the ongoing 2025 edition of the Asia Cup.

Abhishek Sharma, who is on fire with the bat for Team India in the Asia Cup 2025, entered his name in the history books on Wednesday, September 24, by becoming the second Indian after Virat Kohli and overall third batter to score 200 runs in one edition of the Asia Cup T20Is. The 25-year-old left-handed batter from Punjab, who tops the ICC T20I batter’s ranking, needed 27 runs to join the 200-run club in the T20I format of the Asia Cup, and he achieved the objective by hitting Mustafizur Rahman for a six on the last ball of the fifth over of the ongoing India-Bangladesh Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s match in Dubai.
The overall record of scoring the most runs in one edition of the Asia Cup T20Is is in the name of Mohammad Rizwan. The former Pakistan captain played six matches for the Babar Azam-led side in the 2022 edition and scored 281 runs. On the other hand, Virat Kohli amassed a total of 276 runs in five matches for Team India in the Asia Cup 2022.
