The dreaded bend test of the iPhone Air gives surprising results.
Apple unveiled the iPhone Air earlier this month and the first thing people thought about was its ability to handle the bend tests. Well, the wait is over and the new thin iPhone has been put through the rigorous JerryRigEverything test recently.
And the YouTuber is showing us the apparent durability of the new slim iPhone and whether it can handle the dreaded bend test that previous iPhone models have failed. iPhone Air is light and one of the thinnest Apple has ever made but does that sleek design come at the cost of durability?
iPhone Air Bend And Scratch Test Revealed
Apple has used titanium to build the iPhone Air model while the 17 Pro series goes with aluminium this year. The use of the stronger material means the iPhone Air is able to handle the tough bending test of JerryRigEverything, who was impressed with the quality of the device and he tried to bend it from the back, which did not do any damage.
He tried to bend the iPhone Air from the front side which did show some impact but the YouTuber noticed the panel snapped back to its original form, which also did make a positive reading from the test.
But these durability tests are pushed to another level, and he then puts pressure on the center of the phone which is when the glass cracked and even the frame had bent a bit. But much to his surprise, the back panel was in full shape and the device was working normally.
However, the scratch test tells us a different story about the iPhone Air. While the screen with Ceramic Shield 2 from Apple was able to withstand most of the abuse, the side frame couldn’t do much about the brutality which showed the impact of the scratches.
So, does the iPhone Air prove it is sleek yet durable? These tests clearly show the durability of the new model, which can easily handle the regular wear and tear, and that is quite impressive because of the design and engineering applied by the company.
